Our History

Vessels of Honour Church Inc. was incorporated in October 1996 under the leadership of founders Reverend Billy J. Bowers and Dr. Brenda J. Bowers.

The IRS and the State of Wisconsin have recognized Vessels of Honour Church, Inc as a 501c3 and Wis. Stats. Chap.181 Non-profit Charitable Organization governed by a Board of Directors which Reverend Bowers and Dr. Bowers serve as President and Vice-President respectively. They also serve as the Senior Pastors of the church ministry.

The Holy Spirit spoke to both Senior Pastors through the Word of God in 2 Corinthians 7:1 and 2 Timothy 2:20-21 from which they derived the name “Vessels of Honour”.

The initial location of the ministry started as a corner lot of land in Milwaukee, WI. The resulting new construction was a church, which was built from the ground up by a small congregation of the faithful members of Vessels.  This Milwaukee location served as the headquarters for the church from 1996 – 2009.

In 2009 God again showed Himself just and merciful by favoring the church with a new edifice in Mequon, WI where the ministry is currently headquartered and the congregation holds its primary services and activities.

As the membership continues to grow, its efforts focus on community outreach, evangelism, discipleship, education, international ministry, and an atmosphere of worship in which a culture of Christ is center of service through a standard of excellence.

The mission and vision of the ministry that were resonate at its inception, continues to drive the direction of the work under the anointed leadership of Apostle and Dr. Bowers.  This multi-generational, multi-cultural ministry intends to make a positive impact on the Great Commission given us by Christ for the uplifting of God’s Kingdom and the edification of His Body while awaiting His return.
